FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR WOMEN 480.748-8632
We have all heard of practicing safe sex, but what about practicing safe waxing?
You have seen us on Channel 3 news about this subject.....Our salon policy is this; NEVER DOUBLE DIP THE WAX STICKS!. This means going back into the wax pot with the same wax stick. Once we have touched you with a wax stick, it never goes back into the pot where it can contaminate the wax. Why would we do that? When waxing any part of the body, more times than not, there is blood involved. Don't let any person tell you it is OK to double dip; it is not! The first question you should ask a place that waxes is "do you double dip?". The health and safety of our clients is our number one priority. We are setting the highest examples and standards of salons and spas in the industry here at Just For You. If you have Type I Diabetes, you should never wax!
How can I tell if I'm being double dipped?
Go to your wax person for a wax and just watch. If you don’t hear the wax stick being thrown away into a trash can after every application, they are double dipping. Setting the wax stick on top of the pot after applying it on you is double dipping. If on the phone you ask them if they double dip they will say "no" and not do it in front of you so you may never know. Again, just go in for your wax and watch what they do. If they do double dip, LEAVE!!!
Is there such a thing as getting waxed for free? Dare I ask!
You bet! We are always looking for television, newspaper or magazine exposure. Be directly responsible for getting us an interview and we will reward you with any, yes I did say ANY waxing for a full six months. The mere fact that we don't double dip wax is news worthy! For that matter there isn't a lot of places that will do full body waxing on men. Guys don't even know that there are places to get waxed and media exposure gets waxing into the lime light. Give Loretta a call. 480-752-8100
Why does every salon has a different meaning for a brazilian wax?
A brazilian wax is removing the hair from the entire pubic area and around the buttocks. Not everyone wants the same amount of hair removed, so we call it different names for the amount of hair you want removed and charge accordingly. At Just for you we offer many wax variations of a brazilian wax and we will discuss each one with you. The most popular wax for a woman is the Full Lip Brazilian wax, it will make you feel so sexxxxy and he will love it!
I've heard a lot of different stories about waxing and the position the client must get into, could you please explain to me what to expect when I get my bikini area waxed.
You will come into the room and change into disposable bikini pants. You will then lie on the bed facing up. We would then discuss what kind of waxing you want and wax accordingly. To get to the other side of the buttock area, you bring both of your knees to your chest. This seems to be the best way to get around that area. Some people prefer to get on their elbows and knees to get their rear waxed, this also works well. We do our best to make you as comfortable as possible. Remember that we bikini wax all day long and we have a lot of experience with first time waxers.
What is the difference between a Bikini wax and a Brazilian wax?
Bikini line is where we remove the hair from inside a bikini line bathing suit and around the butt (but not behind the butt unless you request it) and not the lip area. $40 This is a good place for a beginner to start waxing.
An in- line bikini wax is just a thinner line of hair on top $45. It looks like a brazilian, but it is not. We do not wax the lip area. Up the buttox area is included.
A Brazilian wax is where one half of the hair is removed from the middle labia (lips) and all the way around the butt . A small patch is left on the top half area. $50
What exactly is a " Full Bikini Wax"?
A full bikini wax is waxing the entire bikini area and around the buttocks. $65
What is a full lip Brazilian wax?
It is the entire lip area and all the way around the buttocks with a small patch of hair on left above the pubic bone. This is our most popular wax and will spice up your love life. It will make you feel very sexy and he will love it! $60
Do you wax around the butt?
Yes, all of our brazilian waxes will include around the butt. It is one of the main reason's our clients keep coming back to us. We will just assume you want this done. If you haven't experienced this, you're just not getting a good wax. It doesn't make sense to have a clean looking bikini wax and not have your butt done. You shouldn't have to ask for this or pay extra, it should always be in the price of a brazilian wax. The way we get your butt area is when you are getting the brazilian wax you bring both your knees to your chest and we wax the other side quite easily. When you are getting a "regular bikini wax", you lie on your back and lift one knee at a time to your chest so we can get around your butt (we don't go on behind the butt unless you request it). Regular bikini waxers are a bit shy and we understand this.
Will it hurt?
When professionally done the pain is minimal, but you have to be realistic, we are taking the hair out by the root. The second time that you wax it will be a lot more comfortable. Another way to explain this is that the first time you wax, the hairs are full grown and have a pretty strong grip. The second time that you wax, it is all baby hairs that are being pulled out and they are not so strong, so they come out a lot easier. All newcomers seem to agree.
Is it normal to get a bruise when you bikini wax?
If you are getting bruised during your wax, the person waxing you is not pulling your skin hard enough. We have performed over 40,000 brazilian waxes and can tell you no, it is not normal (but sometimes it can happen). When correctly done, this should not happen.
Can I get a bikini wax if I'm on my period?
Absolutely, just wear a tampon, however you may be more sensitive. Please be clean before you come in or freshen up with the baby wipes that we provide. Even if you are not on your period we ask that you be considerate about this matter
How long should my hair be before I wax?
1/4 of an inch, or full grown. Please, please, please, don't shave or trim at least 10-14 days before you come in, trying to wax any sooner will not work.
Do you have to be a certain age to wax?
At least 16 years old. We do not wax younger girls unless their mother's are present. Also no brazilian waxes are done on anyone under 16 even with their parents permission. This is just our salon policy. Mom's, if you want to bring a really young girl in to wax and she does "not" want to wax, we will "not" wax her. We will only wax people who want to be waxed.
How long will it last?
Everybody grows hair differently, it will last for two weeks for a very clean look. Three to four weeks is the average time in between waxing. The more you wax, the longer it seems to last.
I have recently had a gender change, can I get wax services at your salon?
We welcome everyone.
How can I not be embarrassed letting someone I don't know wax me?
Let me assure you that the aestheticians at Just For You are very professional. We take pride in making you feel very comfortable and relaxed during your waxing procedure. All of our Aestheticians have been extensively trained in this area of waxing.
Will the same person wax me every time I go in?
When you book your appointments, you can request the same person to wax you. We have four aestheticians and all of them are experts at waxing. We all wax the same and are all taught by the owner Loretta Wilson, her standards are very high, if you are not happy; please see her. By the way, Loretta and Sylvia is the only persons doing men's bikini waxing.
Is it true that over time I will not have to wax anymore?
Only if you are truly blessed! However the hair will come in finer and start to thin out over time.
Will I be wearing anything when I get a bikini wax?
Yes, women wear disposable panties and men drape a towel over themselves.
What if I am sunburned or just came out of a tanning booth?
It is not a good idea to get a wax for a week after a sunburn. Your skin may lightly come off.
Do women really get their whole face waxed? And why would they do that?
Yes, there are women out there who do not like the hair or fuzz on their face, we remove it all. It will last for up to 6 weeks and you save money when you do it all. It is really getting to be quite popular to have this done. $55 You cannot do this if your are on any acne medications or using glycolic on your face. Also, if you have a tendency toward acne you will break out. If you are planning on getting married or have a special event to go to, DO NOT wax your face for the first time. You never know what kind of reaction you will have, it is not the time to experiment.
Why would you have brow waxing parties for such young girls?
Some young girls are so hairy that it really bothers them in school and affects their self esteem. It is such a cool thing for a mom to let her daughter wax, it also teaches her grooming skills. What better way for her to do it with all of her friends around and in such a professional environment.
If I wax my facial hair, will it grow back thicker?
No, that is an old wise tale !
Do you wax the inside of the nose & how bad does it hurt?
Yes we do, and believe it or not it does not hurt. All you feel is pressure on the nose.
Wouldn't it be easier just to get laser hair removal?
The fact is that there is no such thing as permanent laser hair removal, as of right now there is only permanent hair reduction. It has not been perfected yet. It only works on 25% of the people who have it done, the other 75% have to keep having the treatments done over and over again and will never lose all of their hair. A lot of my clients who have had this done are back to waxing 6-12 months later. It will however thin your hair out and make waxing easier.
I get ingrown hairs when I shave, will waxing eliminate them?
For the majority of people, yes. However if you still have a problem with ingrown hairs we have multiple ways of treating them. Very few of our regular customers suffer from ingrown'.
If I get bumps, what should I do?
Here are a few tips and ideas: The best advice we can give you is to use hydrogen peroxide full strength on the area. If you have hair there it can bleach the hair. We use this on all of our waxes. Try it! You could also use rubbing alcohol on your waxed area for up to five days or use epson salt to soak in to discourage skin growing over the hair follicle. Besides that when you get out of a hot shower you should scrub the area with a dry towel, or exfoliate the area with a loofa in the shower. If that still doesn't help we sell scrubbing towels that you can wash with and it will get rid of ingrown'. Also, it is not a bad idea to use antibacterial soap for the area that is breaking out. You can try BPO cream for acne, it works very well or tend skin. The best way to control ingrown' is to have an ingrown hair treatment from us when you wax. It seems to be most effective, but these other remedies also work. Good luck!
Will I bleed?
The first time that you wax your follicle 's may put out a little blood. It will be gone by the time we are finished.
Will waxing make me red, and how long will the redness last?
It all depends one the sensitivity of the skin. Redness can last up to an hour or longer after you wax. You can also try using visine for the eyes, it gets the red out of a waxed area.
What kind of wax do you use?
We use a brand called Beauty Image. My clients think it is one of the greatest waxes they have ever been waxed with. We also use a roll on wax for the body. If you have an allergy to pine, it will not be good for you.
Why do I break out after I wax?
There are a couple of reasons why you may possibly have a breakout after waxing. After the hair is pulled out , the sebaceous gland (oil gland) becomes over stimulated and causes a pimple like reaction. Think about it, your body does not know that you wanted the hair out, all it knows is that it is hurt. Your skin will react to what it thinks is a hurt. Usually the skin will start producing skin cells (to mend the hurt) which starts blocking the pores and that is what causes the bumps. Another reason is that if there is already bacteria present in the lower layers of the skin, the trauma to the skin can cause it to surface. If you wax again within 30 days you probably will not have a second reaction because your skin has been there, done that. By using hydrogen peroxide after, putting Tend Skin or alcohol on a waxed area it discourages skin cells from producing and should help to minimize breakouts. If you have any kind of problem, come back and see us right away. Also, if you have a bad reaction from some place else we will gladly take care of this for you at no charge (yes, you did read that right).
Should anything be applied to my skin after a wax?
Yes, sun block if you are going outside, because waxing strips the dead skin cells from the surface of the skin, which makes the skin very sensitive and could lead to a sunburn. Or Alcohol can be applied to the skin if you are staying indoors, this helps to prevent breakouts, and could help your redness fade.

• If you breakout, don't panic, just came back in and let us take care of it for you.
• No rough sex afterwards if you are waxing for the first time. You could become irritated.
• Sometimes a light layer of skin can come off when waxing, don’t worry, it will be fine in a couple of days. It feels like a light sunburn. Most times you won't even notice it.
