We have all heard of practicing safe sex, but what about practicing safe waxing?
Our salon policy is this; NEVER DOUBLE DIP THE WAX STICKS!
This means going back into the wax pot with the same wax stick. Once we have touched you with a wax stick, it never goes back into the pot where it can contaminate the wax. Why would we do that? When waxing any part of the body, more times than not, there is blood involved. Don't let any person tell you it is OK to double dip; it is not! The first question you should ask a place that waxes is "do you double dip?". The health and safety of our clients is our number one priority. We are setting the highest examples and standards of salons and spas in the industry here at Just For You. Caution!!!!If you have Type I Diabetes, you should never wax!
Is there such a thing as getting waxed for free? Dare I ask!
You bet! We are always looking for television, newspaper or magazine exposure. Be directly responsible for getting us an interview and we will reward you (you can give it to anyone) with any, yes I did say ANY waxing for a full six months. The mere fact that we don't double dip wax is news worthy! For that matter there isn't a lot of places that will do full body waxing on men. Guys don't even know that there are places to get waxed and media exposure gets waxing into the lime light. Give Loretta a call. 480-752-8100
I'm a guy and I do not know what kind of waxing or grooming I need to do. Can you help me?
When you come in for your first wax, we will always consult first. As we talk, I can help you decide to do what is best for you. Sometimes we will do a brow wax or nose wax free of charge (if time permits) just so you can try it. We will make you feel very comfortable with any questions or concerns about grooming that you may have.
Does a man or woman brazilian wax a man?
Women, we have no male waxer's.
Do men really get waxed?
Absolutely! Have you heard of the new terms Metro males or Manscaping? Body builders, cross dressers, athletes, models, gay guys, dancers and just regular guys all want waxing. It is not just a woman thing anymore, it's in the main stream. At our salon men’s waxing is one of the fastest growing procedures we perform. We also have a lot of men who wax because if makes them feel cleaner and sexier. Plus their wives or girlfriends go crazy over it! Hair is no longer the "in" thing, besides it is the cool thing to do!! Warning!! Once you wax for your significant other, you can't go back to hair.
I've never been waxed before (brazilian) and I am really nervous. What should I expect?
You will be taken to a very professional, clean and private room (look at our waxing rooms). The aesthetician will leave the room as you undress and remove your pants. You will lay on top of the bed face up and covered up with a towel. We do our best never to expose you. She will then come back into the room and discuss what kind of wax you want. You will be put at ease very quickly when you see how professional we are. You will never be exposed.
I've been waxed before and have had a bad experience, how are you different?
Loretta had been waxing men for going on 17 years. Having preformed thousands of brazilian wax's on men and over 100,000 on women, it has been a long learning experience of knowing what works and what doesn't. It is a matter of pride for me to be the best, and to know that you will NOT get a better wax anywhere else. Most of my clients tell me it has been the best wax experience they have ever had and really appreciate the fact that we try to keep them covered up at all times. When you can wax a man's testicle area and the skin does NOT come off and they don't bruise, you know what you are doing! Also, when I am waxing someone that has never been waxed before, I go very slowly and work my way up. That way if you don't like it or you are uncomfortable we can stop. You will also have a chance to get more comfortable and will see that it doesn't hurt as bad as you think. We also extract ingrown hairs when we see them. We try to be as considerate as possible. The salon has clients that come as far away as Tucson on a regular basis and gets calls from all over the country from men who will be visiting our state. Loretta has trained all the aestheticians to do the exact waxing. It truly has taken over 17 years to get it down to an exact science.
I have bumps all over my testicles, Im so embarrassed, would you still wax me? And what are they?
They are either Milia's (small hard bumps that move when you touch them), Fordyce Spots (bumps of different skin colors that look like Milia but are not), or Syringomas (bumps that go really deep). None of these should be of any concern other that the fact that you may not like the looks. Get diagnosed by a doctor first then come and see me after he tells you, its fine, nothing to worry about or you can live with it. I "may" be able to help you by either cauterize them off of chemically remove them but I have to see it to be sure I can do it. The Milia's are the easiest to remove. (consults are recommended before any treatment) You can still be waxed, its just an option.
Do you shave men? No.
Can I have sex the same day? Yes
What kind of wax do you use?
We use a brand called Beauty Image. My clients think it is one of the greatest waxes they have ever been waxed with. We also use a roll on wax for the body. If you have an allergy to pine, it will not be good for you.
Will it hurt?
Well....Yes......But......When professionally done the pain is minimal, but you must be realistic, we are taking hair out by the root. The second time you wax it will not hurt as much. Let me explain. The first time you wax out the hairs they are all adult hairs that are very strong especially if you have been shaving. The second time that you wax the hairs that are growing are baby hairs and they just don't have the same hold as adult hairs. So they come out alot easier. All newcomers seem to agree. You can also go and buy an over the counter numbing cream and apply it one hour before you come in. Sally's Beauty supply stores sell this, just go to the waxing department.
What is a Brazilian wax on a man?
It is everything but the testicle area. $69
I've never heard of the term "brief wax" is that new and what is it?
It is Loretta's made up term for a man's bikini wax. We service alot of men for waxing and we don't think that men should have to ask for a bikini wax. Brief sounds more masculine. Its like a woman's bikini line, nothing fancy, just the outside and up the buttox.
What is a full brazilian wax on a man ?
The entire brief area, testicles and around the butt (crack). With our technique, it is very safe. Try it, you'll Love it! $89 Caution....Once you take it all off, your woman will never want hair again!
Do you wax up the middle buttock?
All of our brazilian area wax's will include going all up the butt (crack area). It is one of the main reasons why our clients keep coming back to us. We will just assume that you want this done, you shouldn't have to ask for this. Just so that you are aware, to wax a man's crack, you have to get on your elbow's and knees so that we can wax all the way around the butt. (if you can come up with a better way, let us know) You can also just have this procedure done by itself. $25
On a full back wax, how far up do you go?
A full back wax is from the hairline down to the lower waste $45 This wax would also include the top area of your shoulders. If you want to add a full shoulder, it would include going 1/3 of a way down your top half of your arm. There is a $10 extra charge for this.
What is a full body hair wax?
A full body hair wax is when we wax the hair out (not including the fuzz hair) from the neckline to the toes and everything in between. We discount a full body waxing because it gets rather expensive to price it separately. $225
Then what would be a full body hair and "fuzz" wax?
We wax not only the hair , but also the fine peach fuzz areas of the body (every square inch). Some people don't like it when they are in the sun and you can see the fuzz on the body when everything else is waxed. Also if you have hair over every square inch of your body, it will be considered a fuzz wax. You do get a free bottle of tend skin when you ask with this wax only $275.
Can my significant other be in the room also? Yes, no cell phones are to be handled or on for the obvious reasons.
Does a guy taking all of his body hair off seem strange or sexy?
Well guys, let me give you the facts. I am a woman and I think it is great! My female clients love their men to be totally hairless. They say that the sex is very exciting because you can see everything, and we know how visual men are, even with themselves. Women who have had hairless men tell me that hair is now a real turnoff. If your just getting back into the single world, take my word for it, bald is in. So, is it sexy? Totally!
I am so hairy, is there any help for me?
Well, when we wax it doesn't matter how hairy you are. A strip of wax is a strip of wax. I have male clients who get their back waxed even after they have had laser hair removal. Laser seems to thin out their hair so they wax easier. By the way, all laser will do is thin out your hair. People who do lose all of their hair only lose it for six to twelve months.
If I get bumps, what should I do?
Here are a few tips and ideas: The best advice we can give you is to use hydrogen peroxide full strength on the area. If you have hair there it can bleach the hair. We use this on all of our waxes. Try it! You could also use rubbing alcohol on your waxed area for up to five days or use epson salt to soak in to discourage skin growing over the hair follicle. Besides that when you get out of a hot shower you should scrub the area with a dry towel, or exfoliate the area with a loofa in the shower. If that still doesn't help we sell scrubbing towels that you can wash with and it will get rid of ingrown'. Also, it is not a bad idea to use antibacterial soap for the area that is breaking out. You can try BPO cream for acne, it works very well or tend skin. The best way to control ingrown' is to have an ingrown hair treatment from us when you wax. It seems to be most effective, but these other remedies also work. Good luck!
I have pimples on my back already, will there be a problem waxing my back?
If you have acne on an area that you want to wax (such as the back or chest), I will tell you from alot of experience you will break out! It doesn't mean you can't wax, it just means you will have a bad break out. Some guys want to wax anyways and add a ingrown hair treatment, it helps. I have had customers who came to me with terrible acne on their back and we treated it with our ingrown hair treatments and their acne went away, so it can work both ways. You can also take an epson salt bath and it will help your acne go away or spray hydrogen peroxide on the area, it will help a great deal!
How long does each procedure take?
The time is listed next to the price of each procedure.
What is the most popular wax a man does?
Most men like the full Brazilian wax and a full body wax. That would include everything from the neck down and everything in between.
Do you really wax the inside of the nose and ears? How bad does that hurt?
Yes, we take out the hair out of your nose with one pull. Trust me, trust me, trust me, it DOES NOT HURT! It sounds awful, but everyone seems to agree that it's worth it.
I'm a guy and I worry that I may get an erection during my wax, is it unusual?
Not at all, professional's understand that this may happen, we will try to make you as comfortable as possible. We do our best to keep you covered up at all times. Believe me after that first pull the situation goes away on it's own. Don't worry about it.
Can certain kinds of waxing make your penis look longer?
Believe it or not, yes. We wax out hair one inch at the base of the penis giving it the appearance of looking longer. There is no charge for this extra procedure other than the price of the wax you are doing. The guys love it!
Does waxing a man's testicles hurt bad and does the skin come off?
The first time as with any wax it can hurt just a little, but with Loretta's technique, most men say it's great. When preformed properly, it is rare for the skin to come off. I don't care if you have been waxed 10 times and the skin came off and you let me know of your experience, it will not come off with me!
Is it normal to get a bruise when you wax?
If you are getting bruised when you wax it is because the person waxing you is not pulling your skin tight enough. When waxed correctly, this should not happen. No, this is not normal part of being waxed, but it can happen if the skin being waxed is not pulled tight enough.
What will I be wearing when I get brazilian waxed?
You will drape a towel over yourself. We do our best to keep you covered up and not feel exposed and would very much appreciate it if you would do your best to stay covered. Anyone purposefully exposing themselves will be asked to leave. We are very professional here.
How long should my hair be before I wax?
At least 1/4 of an inch. The longer the better. Please don't shave or trim your hair before you come in, it will make our job harder. please do not trim your hair before you come in. If you shaved just 10 days ago, lease do not make an appointment, wait at least 2 weeks.
Do you have to be a certain age to wax?
I will 'not' brazilian or brief wax a male under 18. I will wax arms, legs, backs, etc on 16 year olds and up.
How long will a waxing last?
From two to three weeks. Understand that when you pull out a hair it triggers another one to start growing right away but it can take up to 2 week to show. If you like the way waxing feels, you will need to wax once every 5-6 weeks.
Will I bleed?
Sometimes the hair follicle will put out a little blood. (this is why we do NOT double dip the wax sticks) It will all be gone by the time we are finished.
Is it true that over time I will stop growing hair?
Only if you are truly blessed and can walk on water. However, it will slightly thin out.
Wouldn't it be easier just to get laser hair removal?
The fact is that there is no such thing as permanent laser hair removal. It has not been perfected yet. It only works on 25% of the people who have it done, the other 75% have to keep having the treatments done over and over again and will never lose all of their hair. A lot of my clients who have had this done are back to waxing 6-12 months later. It will however thin your hair out alot making waxing easier.
How can I not be embarrassed letting someone I don't know wax me?
Let me assure you that the aestheticians at Just For You are very professional. We take pride in making you feel comfortable and relaxed during your waxing procedure. You are covered up at all times, never totally naked. If you purposefully expose yourself you will be asked to leave. We are professionals.
I get ingrown hairs when I shave, will waxing eliminate them?
For the majority of guys, yes. However if you still have a problem we have multiple ways of treating them. Very few of our clients suffer from ingrown'. The best way to prevent them is to do an ingrown treatment on you when you wax, especially if you are prone. Caution: if you have acne on your back or chest, you will get a severe case of ingrown'. If you really want to wax anyway, you should do the ingrown treatment. I have had customers that all their life had bad acne on their back and with a couple of ingrown treatments their acne gets better and better.
I got waxed somewhere else and had a bad ingrown reaction. Can I come in and see you even though you didn't wax me?
Absolutely! Our ingrown treatment is really amazing. A do it yourself at home would be to put straight hydrogen peroxide on the area, we now do that in the salon. You can also put Pepto Bismo (yes, the pink stuff) on the area , it works better than peroxide
I have recently had a gender change, can I feel welcome at you business for wax services?
Absolutely, we are very open minded, feel free and welcome. We will also service cross dressers, again we are very open minded here. You can also get your nails, makeup and hair done here. I'm not here to judge anyone, I have a business to run. Be who you are.
If I don't want to wax all the hair out, but I want the hair shorter, can you do that?
No, it is just way too messy so we will not buzz the entire body, however we will buzz the top brief hair for you. We cannot do the testi's because it will snag your testi skin.
Do you wax the entire body at one appointment?
Yes, sometimes it can take up to two hours if only one person is waxing. Please remember waxing is very hard work, the faster it is done, the better for us and the client. It is especially good if you are on a time scheduled, we can usually finish you up in less than 2 hours.
What will you not wax, and why?
We will not wax heads unless you have been shaving it for at least ten years. By then we assume that you have to know what it is you want. Sorry, no one under 30 years of age. We do not want to be responsible for your regrets later in life.
Do you wax beards?
Yes, but I can tell you it will hurt. If you are up to it, go for it! It will last for up to 2 weeks before it will start to come back again. Your hair must be 1/3 of an inch long to get a good wax. Again, it will hurt like hell! A really cool wax is the beard line (half the neck), its very sexy.
Can I call you with more questions?
You can call the salon 480-752-8100 and ask to speak to any wax professional or e-mail us with your questions. If you do e-mail me, you must make the subject matter "waxing" or I will delete you due to all of the junk mail I get.
A FEW TIPS FROM LORETTA...
BEFORE WAXING
You can take aspirin a few hours before to reduce possible swelling (people do it, I'm not convinced it works)
You can buy over the counter numbing cream to use one hour before to reduce stinging.
Please don't shave for at least 10-14 days before you come in.
If you have been sweating in a car do not wax, your skin could come off due to it softening.
You can moisturizer before coming in if you are real dry. It actually makes it better to wax.
Do not sit in the sun, come in with a sunburn or use tanning beds.
Do not use any abrasive body or facial scrubs.
Do not wax if you just gotten over a cold (facial waxing).
Don't wax if you are have using any acne medication, Retin-A, glycolic or hydroxy acids.
Don't take a shower before you come in for a brow or lip wax, it makes the skin weak.
It's not a good idea to take a hot shower before bikini waxing, it make the skin soft and could come off.
Don't wax the day you get married or a special occasion. It is not the time to experiment.
Please be clean, we do provide you with cleansing towelettes, please use them.-
AFTER WAXING
Don't touch the waxed area with dirty hands.
We love Which Hazel to control breakout. Pepto Bismo (the pink stuff) also works amazing.
24 hours after you can exfoliate with a aloof sponge if you are prone to ingrown'.
Use a chemical defoliant also, we recommend a product like Tend skin, pepto bismo or plain old hydrogen peroxide that you buy at the grocery store, it's great!
Don't go home and take a hot shower.
Don't work out after a wax.
Don't get burned by the hot sun.
Please call us with any problems or breakouts

- When Not to Get Waxed:
- Smokers or those with Rosacea. Waxing can irritate dilated capillaries (weak or broken blood vessels) which are commonly found on people with Rosacea and smokers. If the capillaries are very red, stay away from waxing in that area.
- You take blood thinners, have diabetes, phlebitis or want post- cancer hair growth in side-burn area removed. These all relate to medical conditions, so first get your doctor's approval before waxing.
- You use powerful exfoliators on your skin. Salicylic acid, alpha-hydroxy acid, white willow bark, white willow bark extract and enzymes all strip cells from the skin. It's all too much exfoliation combined with waxing, and could make skin red, bleed or even turn scabby. So stop using these products in the area getting waxed for at least three days before, and three to four days after waxing. (Depending on the strength of the product and the type of skin you have the safe wax wait time time may be much longer before and after. If the alpha-hydroxy is over 8% then you may have to wait months before safely getting waxed.)
- You recently drank a lot of caffeine or alcohol. These stimulants in your system can cause skin to be extra sensitive to waxing, meaning you could get more red or inflamed than usual. Give yourself a couple hours after drinking coffee or alcohol before getting waxed.
- You currently take Accutane, or have stopped taking it less than a year ago.
- You're taking any prescription acne medication.
- You have lupus or AIDS.
- You're in cancer therapy getting chemotherapy or radiation.
- You have been in direct sunlight for a long period of time or tanning bed within the last 24 hours.
- Areas Not to Wax:
- Irritated, inflamed, cut, or sunburned skin.
- Anywhere you're using Retin-A (learn more about hair removal and using this skin prescription).
- Legs if you have varicose veins.
- Any area that has a rash, recent scar tissue, a skin graft, pimples, cold sores, moles or warts.
- Anywhere you're having dermabrasion services or have gotten them in the past three months.
- Any place you've recently gotten Botox or collagen injections (about 3 -7 days prior).
- Anywhere that has been waxed within the last 24 hours.
- Areas you're using any alpha hydroxy acid over 8%.
- Over or around body piercings.
